Reclaiming is the process of taking various scraps of clay and returning them into a workable state. if a piece of clay is not too dry it can simply be placed back into the bag or bucket that it came out of. clay that is drier is placed into a bucket with water where it will eventually dissolve into slip.
One the bucket gets full enough. the clay will undergo a process called blunging, which is where water is added and the clay is mixed to a even consistency.
after that, I set the clay on a sheet to dry to a point where I can place it on a plaster surface to dry further. the plaster will ensure that the clay will dry more evenly evenly as opposed to just air drying the clay.
Once the moisture has reached throwing consistency, I will wedge it up and use it just like fresh clay.
